Contemporary Realism Oil Paintings

"Afternoon Tea" in progress
Retirement from the corporate IT world provided the opportunity to experiment with various painting mediums, and artistic outlets. Since studying with traditional oil painters Diane Fraser (still life) and Ann Manry Kenyon (portrait), I feel I've found my niche.
I enjoy the process of developing a painting and seeing it come alive on the canvas; the effect of light on the subject intrigues me, especially the drama it can bring to a composition. My goal is to capture the beauty of each object, the interaction between objects, and to ultimately create a beautiful and pleasing work that I hope will intrigue the viewer.
I was fortunate to have found and taken workshops with David Gray, Douglas Flynt, Elizabeth Robbins, as well as, New Mexico artists, Kandy Tate and Julie Ford Oliver.
